Hehe.. I find it amusing that CNN did a piece on Danny Choo, I’ve been going to his site since forever, mostly just for Tokyo Stormtrooper stuff originally, but for anyone who has or once had a penchante for anime his site is a useful portal. Kudos to him on making a job out of his hobby.
I have an intense distrust of anyone who has an IKEA catalogue perfect pristine office enviroment. By this yardstick my trust for former VPOTUSA Al “Captain Planet” Gore is almost without limit.
Do you ever think that life would just be easier if Al Gore ran for President again? Historically he’s been on the opposite side of almost every calamitous decsion of the Republican government, has extensive experience, he’s good for the environment, he’s only just broke 60, which must be in the realm of the ideal age for the most powerful man in the world and he’s more popular than your average rock star these days. I’m not even American and I find myself wishing he’d thrown his hat in.
My respect for Matt Damon increased after seeing the following video, he seems to be saying what everyone else is saying in a “no holds barred” sense. When you think about it, it really is terrifying and John McCain has the look of someone who’s on his last legs, or already animated by an intricate system of pulleys and levers.
Anyway, its hot and in keeping with slavery laws I now have to go and pull out grass from the floor, because its apparently in the way.
It would be one of the more intruiging ways to go I’ll give you that.
I’m against the idea of the world being over as I’ve just purchased and received delivery of a wonderful 41″ Toshiba flatscreen Full HD TV and a Playstation 3.
Its with the purchase of the TV that I’ve come to realise something about the gaming industry. Games no longer have to be good. With the combination of Blu-ray and Full High Definition TV, gameplay seems to come a dog eared second to eye candy. I only have Soul Calibur 4 at the moment. I’ll be totally honest, there hasn’t been any huge development since 3, its much the same routine, except with Darth Vader (force choking Voldo is extreme amounts of fun). The beauty of the game is in its beauty. It’s so fluid and pretty that frankly I don’t care that I’ve played the same game twice before (since Soul Blade advance has undoubtedly been made). My wish list of games currently isn’t all that long, however I would like to check out MGS:4, despite average reviews and the fact that I only ever truly enjoyed the first one it seems like a must have. Tekken 6 is soon to make an appearance and Disgaea 3 looks interesting, however I am waiting for them to pump up the volume with releases somewhat, I have every faith the PS3 will be the late bloomer of this generation of consoles, it has far more unlocked potential than any of the others in the market at the moment.
I think I had other news, but screw it.

…but you can’t take the drunk from the drink. Actually that seems rather negative. Good luck to you if you’re thinking of quitting drinking. Personally I think only quitters quit. Anyway, the pretentious “GQ awards”, who have the audacity to hand out titles like “man of the year” to handsome young actors for feats such as taking a picture with an ethnic minority member, apparently took place although this year they managed to achieve something it seems. Almost two full minutes of entertainment right here:
I think Lilly Allen is the one that sings about Sainsburys or somesuch isn’t she? The repulsive little troglodite.
Speaking of repulsive. Watch this promo video for scientology. As a test for just how vanilla it is try replacing the word “scientologist” with any kind of role, occupational or otherwise, and the word “scientology” with a by product or tool related to said role. For example: “bee keeper” and “honey”, or “gynaecologist” and “lubricant”. See what you can come up with, most entertaining entry wins a fake biography I make of them posted on my blog.

Every year some kid discovers the internet and becomes slightly stupider. Kids in their naievety think that by discovering an online translation website, inputting all of their scrambled Japanese syntax into the application and pressing “translate”, they’ll have an award wining novel. What they actually get is 200 words of garbled literary diarrhea. It’s actually quite fun shooting them down.
Scene: Teachers room
Me: T, did you write all this yourself? About your holiday in Osaka?
T: Yes!
Me: Wow, this is long.
T: It took ages.
Me: However, it stinks.
T: What?
Me: What does “It was the most terrible turning of the pen that was amazed” mean? In Japanese please.
T: ….ehm…
Me: And this part: “my friend he does and does” ?
T: ….
Me: The jewel in the turd crown however is this part : “He was the behind of celluloid board and sticker posted too. Red ink to my skin was afixed duely” …what the hell were you doing on holiday?
T: I uhm…
Me: Did you perchance stumble across a translation site and think you could completely avoid doing your summer homework?
T: ……yes…..
Me: Then you’ve won the chance to play the “let’s do this again” game. Hand it in tomorrow, all written in your own hand to win the chance to not be picked to sing solo at the English speech contest next month.
Regretably, the self done effort wasn’t a massive improvement, although noticably shorter.
In more relevant news, once again the Prime Minister of Japan has resigned, with little explanation save that “he doesn’t want to do it anymore”. Since Jun-chan’s, enormously popular reign came to an end, two Prime Ministers have risen and fallen, both in less than a year. His direct replacement Shinzo Abe was deeply unpopular, but seemed to catch a lot of the blame for the Japanese pension crisis, which frankly I can’t understand as he wasn’t there long enough to cock it up, unless he went down to the office himself and burned all the records to create more space for desk lamps following the opening of IKEA in Osaka. After a year he quit stating “heatlh issues” and was replaced by Yasuo Fukuda, who is about as interesting as John Major and slightly less interesting than HB pencils. Fukuda suddenly resigned after not quite making it through a full year, stating that the Democratic party (opposition) make things too difficult. Stupid democracy. Anyway, the new guy is likely to be manga loving Taro Aso, having tried for it the last two times only to lose the in-party popularity contest, probably because he’s an otaku and smells.
Anyway, here’s to you Aso, and whoever replaces you when you burn your tongue on hot coffee and your toast falls butter side down.

So I wave goodbye to my well acquainted routine of arriving at work 30 minutes late and leaving four hours early to exchange it for sitting in the derelict staff room surrounded by the hubub of drills as the school undergoes what appears to be very costly earthquake damage reduction measures. Its times like this that one wonders where exactly the money comes from? And moreso why a daily bus isn’t provided to the nearby JHS where they could easily take in this schools student body of 17, thus allowing:
a) The students to have a bigger circle of friends.
b) Save hundreds of thousands of pounds which could be used in any other capacity.
c) Allow the students to participate in a wider range of activities.(I always feel sorry for the students in Hasekebara that hate tennis and yet have to do it.)
I’m completely bemused by this brazen misuse of resources, the cornerstone argument for not closing the school down of “preserving local tradition” must have a limit surely?
Anyway, school budgeting quandries pales in (pun intended) comparison to the choice of Sara Palin for the Republican VP candidate spot. Now, one of the first things people notice about me is I’m not American, I am 100% uneligiable to vote in the US election. I’m not even sure I’m eligiable to vote in the UK these days, I’ll have to check that out. However, the race for the US presidency is so much more entertaining than that of the UK that it probably warrants a little commentary. Admittedly I don’t understand the system very well, but a couple of minutes of skim research yields some fairly fascinating and well based facts regarding Sara Palin. I found this post rather interesting and some of the links springing from that equally mind boggling. As I understand it, the biggiest pro point of any VP is that they don’t damage your campaign in anyway, and if possible, help it some too. So, she’s a woman. That’s good, maybe some of the disgruntled Clintonites may become Palintologists over night. I’m certain the less rational feminist maybe won over by those kind of antics at the very least. However, how is any of the following not damaging to a campaign?
- The desire to delist polar bears from an endangered species list to support offshore oil drilling. Although frankly I do feel that America has lived in fear of Polar bear attacks for too long. I’m sure in some ways the polar problem has contributed to the gun crime issue America faces today.
- Anti-abortion in even the extreme case of rape victims (editors note: Maybe I find this so boggling because I can’t fathom anti-abortion activism, but even so, rape victims? Unloved child much?).
- Two years previous she was the mayor of a community of 5,500 people. I live in the middle of bassackwards nowhere and we have 11,000, and although he seems like a nice gent, I wouldn’t trust our beloved town mayor in the number two position. Where does this “extensive upper office experience” Palin allegedly has come from? Her previous position in an oil company? I vaguely recall another President who held a position in an oil company. What was his name again..?
There’s plenty of other stuff to read about from more well informed sources, which leads me to wonder, did the McCain campaign team actually do any research? Or was Palin simply the best of a bad bunch? Honestly, if the leaky USS McCain/Palin wins this thing without Obama/Biden making some kind of gigantic error, I don’t see how the American people can accept the result
