It would be one of the more intruiging ways to go I’ll give you that.
I’m against the idea of the world being over as I’ve just purchased and received delivery of a wonderful 41″ Toshiba flatscreen Full HD TV and a Playstation 3.
Its with the purchase of the TV that I’ve come to realise something about the gaming industry. Games no longer have to be good. With the combination of Blu-ray and Full High Definition TV, gameplay seems to come a dog eared second to eye candy. I only have Soul Calibur 4 at the moment. I’ll be totally honest, there hasn’t been any huge development since 3, its much the same routine, except with Darth Vader (force choking Voldo is extreme amounts of fun). The beauty of the game is in its beauty. It’s so fluid and pretty that frankly I don’t care that I’ve played the same game twice before (since Soul Blade advance has undoubtedly been made). My wish list of games currently isn’t all that long, however I would like to check out MGS:4, despite average reviews and the fact that I only ever truly enjoyed the first one it seems like a must have. Tekken 6 is soon to make an appearance and Disgaea 3 looks interesting, however I am waiting for them to pump up the volume with releases somewhat, I have every faith the PS3 will be the late bloomer of this generation of consoles, it has far more unlocked potential than any of the others in the market at the moment.
I think I had other news, but screw it.
Title inspired by Wreck-Gar and the junkions. A classic cinema moment, and I don’t even like Weird Al. I wish I lived in a universe in which the phrase “barweepgranarweepninibon” inspired an impromptu dance party.
So I finally did it. I finally graduated to the next generation. Yesterday, armed with a head full of reviews and pricing guides, I set out to the big electrics store in Wakayama and splased out 180,000円 on this. I have to wait a week for delivery but I’m sure it’ll be worth it, I will no longer have any use for the outside world. Once I get a PS3 or X-Box 360 installed of course. I’m sure there will be resistance from the wife, but with my birthday coming up I’m pretty sure stopping me will require a herd of wild elephants. After all, what’s the point in scrimping and saving for a new gadget if you can’t maximise its potential?
It’s a good news weekend all round it seems, summer has ended with the abruptness of the average train wreck (if such a thing can be averaged), the weekend was mostly cold, rainy and thoroughly enjoyable in that sense, it’s no secret I’m sick of summer, it was no secret I was sick of it before it started either, the end is in sight and soon I’ll be freezing my rear end off once again, bliss awaits.
I’m sure I had further things to add, but frankly not. Save that I finally got around to playing “Portal” a year later than everyone else. It was thoroughly entertaining but for some reason gave me a splitting headache, probably due to the constantly changing perspective. I don’t know if I can really be bothered to do the “advanced” chambers however, it seems like the real fruit of the labour has already been received.
Anyway, have another Transformers video:

Hehehe .. todays summer time-sink is episodes of “The Day Today” from the early 90’s. Chris Morris is a genius.
In actual news. Welsh people are incredibly stupid to an equal level of that of British airport staff apparently. It has to be said. I’m usually pretty clear on which airport it is that I’m going to be landing at when I go anywhere.
Had a meeting with the insurance company today, it lasted all of five minutes. What with my clever pictures and right of way and all I was gunning for them to take a 100% blame on the opponent approach. They however are apparently fine to accept something like 80/20. This seems ridiculous to me, however I am told this is completely normal in such situations where the police aren’t involved and the accident happened in a private area. Financially this doesn’t really affect me, I get my money back either way apparently. However, it’s more the principle of the matter. I had right of way. She/He didn’t stop. I got hit. I have pictures to prove it, he/she doesn’t. So why is the owner of my car’s insurance company paying anything at all? I’m not going to get angry and kick up a fuss because this is apparently “normal” in this country.
Having spoken to the school principal about it he said “Yeah, it’s unfortunate but without the Police involved its down to a discussion between the insurance groups, and without a police injunction they’re not likely to go for a 100/0 split”. Oh well, such is life I suppose. Can’t wee all just be friends and drive properly?
I shit you not.
The winner of the “Best Anything Ever” contest went to today’s episode of Lost. Seriously, I was shaking, physically shaking towards the end of that. If you haven’t been keeping up with Lost, or you ducked out in Season 3, shame on you, you have robbed yourself of being able to watch TV at it’s finest on this day. All you can do is catch up and watch as soon as possible.
Also handy advice for anyone getting into quantum mechanics and time warps, always make sure you have your constant ready to hand in case of emergencies. 2008 could well be the greatest TV year ever just because of this episode. Kudos to you writing team of Lost.
